Care

Delicate fabrics are often used to make something truly gorgeous, they will last a long time but need just that little bit of extra care.  If you are ever unsure email us at sales@gorgeousandco.com and we will be happy to help

Taking care of your bed linen

To preserve the quality and colour of your purchase, care should be taken when washing the fabrics.

Key Points
  • Do not mix fabric types
  • Do not mix whites with colours
  • Use colour detergent for coloured fabrics
  • Do not hot wash
  • Medium heat for tumble drying

Preparation

Before using your bed linen it is recommended that all items are pre-soaked in cold water with a little detergent, followed by machine-washing at no more than 40 degrees for whites and 30 degrees for coloureds. (Do not wash bed spreads before use).

Cotton fabrics must never be washed with polyester/cotton items as this can cause the fabric to pill.

All items should be sorted prior to washing to ensure mixing of fabrics and colours does not occur.

Detergents must be dissolved fully before contact with the bed linen.

It is essential that a coloured fabric is washed in powder or liquid that is specifically formulated for coloured fabrics.

Detergent specifically formulated for whites should only be used with all white fabrics. If such detergent is used with coloured fabrics there will be a degradation of colour due to the addition of optical brightener in white detergents.

Temperature

Bed linen should be washed at no more than 40 degrees. Higher temperatures can cause damage to fabrics. The performance of todays washing powders is such that high temperature washes are unnecessary.

All cotton fabrics are subject to shrinkage. However, this will normally be less than 3 % on our products, as a pre-shrinking treatment is included in the manufacturing process.

Drying and Ironing

Tumble drying is recommended on a low to medium setting with a final cooling cycle. Remove bed linen from the tumble dryer as soon as the cycle has finished. If the cycle selected is such that the products are slightly damp, they will be easier to iron. Complete laundering using a warm steam iron will ensure the best finish.

If the above instructions are followed carefully this bed linen will provide years of excellent use and retain is beautiful look and feel.
